I use my Tivo HD to record Sundance Channel (from a 4DTV satellite receiver), using a simple channel 3 filter. The recordings are on par with other analog channels but the program labels are obviously wrong, as they reflect the scheduled show for channel 3 at that particular time.

So my question is: Is there any way to rename these mislabeled shows on the Tivo itself.

Thanks

PS Just to avoid any piracy suggestions, I am a Sundance Channel subscriber!

If you really want a solution to this, one way to do it is to offload the recordings to your PC, decrypt to .mpg files and then generate metadata (http://pytivo.armooo.net/wiki/MetaData) files for your shows and use pyTivo (http://pytivo.armooo.net/) to serve them back to your Tivos. That way you can land them back on your Tivos with corrected title, description, etc.

Try this...

1. Download the shows to the PC.
2. Use Tivo Decoder (http://www.gmonweb.com/portal/CodingFun/Downloads/tabid/54/Default.aspx) to make it a .mpg.
3. Rename the file.
4. Send the show back to the tivo.

Thanks for the suggestions but they may be too much trouble, for me anyway, just to rename a file. I was hoping for a clean direct hack to the Tivo file system. Looks like I'm going to have to continue using the small Sundance notebook I keep on the coffe table.
