Would this solve my show grouping problem?

I got two tivos... one has connects through cable.. another using over the
air antenna. I often transfer shows from cable-tivo to antenna-tivo.. but lots
of those transferred shows will not group correctly.

If all the channels for the antenna-tivo are the same with cable-tivo... and
that I re-run setup on the antenna-tivo to use cable... would it then group
all shows correctly? :confused:

Will I risk of losing all my shows on the current antenna-tivo?

That'll probably work, but only if the transfered programs have more upcoming episodes in the guide. I'm not sure if already transfered shows will go into groups, but I think they do. No guide data is why they don't group on the OTA Tivo.

Doing this wouldn't cause any recordings to be lost.

Each TiVo has a list of show seriesIDs for every show it has ever seen in its guide. Only recordings with seriesIDs can be grouped into folders. Your second TiVo has a different list than the cable box.

Not true. Tivos do not store any such information. If the series does not appear in the guide data (where the ID is kept for only as long as the program is listed), they won't be grouped into a folder. I've already said this today. I shouldn't have to repeat it.

No. The existing groups will remain.
