This is a very frustrating situation with me. My old regular TIVO died, and hey, these things happened. So i went with the exchange program where you send in $150 and you get back a refurbished one. Well, the first refurbished one didn't work right out of the box and so TIVO said to me, its ridiculous that you have to return the exchanged one, so this time we will send you a new one. Okay. So i got a new one. Cool.
Now maybe a month later, this one is on the fritz. Suddenly every time you press in any direction on the remote, it acts like you hit it 15 times. At first it made two inputs for every motion. So if you pressed the fastfoward button once, it acted like you hit it twice. Now if you touch something once, it acts like you hit it 15 times. So if you are in Now playing, and you press up on the cursor button, it scrolls all the way to the top and tries to keep going.
Now the first thought i had was it was my remote. But then i picked up a universal remote and programmed it to my TIVO and guess what? it did the same thing.
I tried unplugging it and plugging it in again. didn't work, either. I am truly at a loss on what to do with it. I'll call TIVO tomorrow, but i was hoping someone might have the answer before then.
Thanks for you time.
