My TiVo Series 2 had frozen (picture was frozen and system was non-responsive to the remote), so as a last resort, I pulled the plug to get it restarted....

When I plugged it back in all of the LEDs on the front lit up at once and it just sticks that way and won't ever boot not even to the Green Screen of Death.

Here's what I have done:

Verified that the remote works (tried it on one of my other 2 TiVo's)

Verified the A/V connections to my TV

Left it unplugged for an hour and then plugged it in again - Same behavior

Unplugged the ethernet adapter from the USB port and tried booting without that.

Nothing I have tried successfully gets it to boot. There is no picture output at all, and all of the LEDs stay lit permanently...
I suspect / worry that it was in the process of the 9.3 update when it froze, and now it is "Bricked".

Any great ideas out there on how to get this back up and running? Without loosing all of the recorded content?

This sounds like a hard drive failure. Weaknees.com is a great place to start for a new drive.

Can you hear/feel the HD spinning? If not, possibly the power supply went out.

Is the fan spinning?

I can definitely hear the fan spinning, and the LED indicator lights are on, but I can't tell for sure if the HD is spinning. I can tell you for sure that I don't hear the HD seek sounds.

I might open the case to check things out a bit. (as the next step.) if it is an OS partition corruption, is there a good way to copy a new OS onto one of the partitions and not loose the recorded programming?
