I have a 3 Series 2 DT boxes, (TivoHD is NOT available in Canada due to the lack of Cablecard utilization here) connected to a 32 inch 4:3 crt, a 60 Inch LCD, and a Optomo HD72 Projector throwing a 120" screen.

I am streaming my dvd collection from my media server PC using PyTivo, converted using AutoGK into .avi files (.XvID codec).

he problem i am having, is that the images displayed on the screen are padded with black bars all the way around.

Is this happening at the vob->avi step, or the PyTivo -> Tivo step?

If it is the former, what settings should i use to fill my screen? (i have Autogk set to automatically set the Aspect ratio)

If the latter, is there a way to completely DISABLE the padding, or at least reduce it?

I will gladly provide pictures if you need them for reference.

I don't believe it is pyTivo, but without more info I can't be sure.

The easy way to figure this out would be to play the AVI using your computer. If you see black bars there then that is your issue.
