I'm using TiVo Desktop Plus 2.6.1 and want to transfer TiVo recordings to an external hard drive.
TDP 2.6.1 Preferences won't seem to let me select a folder on my external hard drive as the destination for transfered recordings.
When I Browse for Folder in TDP's File Locations Preferences, none of the folders on my external drive, if any of them is clicked on, will enable the OK button in the selection panel.
I'm running Windows XP on a MacBook Pro via Parallels Desktop for Mac. The MacBook Pro is running Mac OS X 10.5.2 Leopard.
I have tried mapping the destination folder on my external drive to a network drive (B:) in Windows. It doesn't help.
My external drive is a USB 2.0 My Book from Western Digital. Its file system is Macintosh HFS. I have the destination folder in question, which resides on it, set up in Parallels as a shared folder, which allows me to use Windows Explorer on it when I refer to it as \\.PSF\TiVo Shows on My Book\Needing Export. But when I refer to it as a mapped network drive, Explorer crashes.
I can also output files to my external drive from the VideoReDo software I'm using. AFAIK, only TDP won't let me use my external drive.
Browse for Folder in TDP also won't let me select a whole bunch of folders that aren't on my external drive.
I'm wondering whether TDP just won't allow files to be transferred to destinations outside a limited authorized group of folders.
Can anyone tell me how to get TDP to use folders on my external drive as destinations for transfered recordings? Thanks in advance.
