cannot reset thumb ratings and suggestions, they're still there

i am unable to reset all thumb ratings and suggestions in my directivo. the unit stops, receives no more input, waits, does not reboot, takes me back to whats playing now. i'd tried this 3 times. i'd hate to have to delete my recordings for it to work.

Welcome to Tivo Community! What steps are you using to try to reset those? What exact on-screen messages are you seeing? And, what brand/model Tivo do you have?

i tried resetting it doing a usual "clear thumb ratings and suggestions" thats when it froze and after a time of inactivity went back to the now playing list. i have a good amount of recordings. i tried to "clear and reset everything" and not even that worked. its using 6.3f so i will likely have to reimage it.
