ftp Problems

Hi All,

I am having some trouble with ftp. I use filezilla & upon opening it I can get a connection first time but when I try to transfer any files it will not connect. Any subsequent attempts at a connection fail until I reboot TiVo whereupon the cycle starts again. Does anyone have any ideas.

I have just had to buy a new PC & I am getting to grips with Vista. I have allowed filezilla through the firewall but I must be missing something.

The only other thing remotely connected to this is that I have finally got remote access working after all these years. I did it by setting up a new dyndns account & actually enabling it!! I have added a password to TiVoweb & I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I don;t know filezilla,but some FTP clients try to open multiple connections and TiVoftpd doesn't support that. If such an option exists, try disabling it.

Multiple connections is on by default in FileZilla - switch it off in the queue pulldown...

I use Filezilla here and do not have any problems transferring files or in connecting to Filezilla again later to transfer more files across.

But I am using Windows XP Home here and not Vista.

It seems to be under the Edit/Settings/Transfers menu option as "Maximum Simultaneours Transfers" and/or "Limit For Concurrent Uploads". I have never had any trouble running Filezilla with Tivo leaving it on the dfeault option for these settings.

Running the latest 3.0.9.2 version here though.

Thanks. I'd already set that that to 1 (one). I posted to find out if anyone knew of a specific 'Queue' option as that doesn't fix my problem.

I have been using Filezilla for nearly 3 years though and never seem to have had this problem. I did try CuteFTP in early Tivoweb using days but found various issues with it that caused me to change to Filezilla.

I particularly like the fact that Filzilla is true Freeware and is being regularly updated and enhanced.:up:
