Confused about Tivo Desktop...Doh!

I have a Series 2 tivo, have the tivo desktop version 2.5. I just upgraded to Tivo Destop PLUS last night. I payed for the tivo plus and inputted the key, but I am not getting the PC icon on the now playing list, even after succesfully connecting/updating to tivo though my network.

I decided to download the new 2.6.1 version and I was temporarily able to see the PC icon and it started to transfer a Divx movie from my pc to tivo. I checked later and the movie was no longer in NOW playing and my PC icon is now gone.

I downgraded back to 2.5, but same issue, no PC icon. Upgraded back again to 2.6.1 and again no PC icon.. I am confused. Can someone give me any pointers. Thanks

Are there any recordings in your My TiVo Recordings folder on your computer (or whatever directory you've designated)? And are those recordings able to be handled by TiVo Desktop with the Plus key installed?

You won't get a computer icon on the Now Playing List if no compatible recordings are in the directory.

oh good, somehow the PC icon showed up.......But now most of my transfers fail, i have tried to transfer 10-15 shows from pc to tivo and only 2 transfered completly.....Any suggestions?

Do what everyone else is doing. Dump it. Go with pytivo. It does the same thing but actually works, uses less resources, and doesn't crash your computer.
