View Full Version : How can tell if 2.6.1 is connecting to TiVo home?

I recently started using 2.6.1 my TiVo sees the PC fine and allows me to move stuff to the PC. I can convert into iTunes issue free. However, when I try and have some of my podcasts sent to the TiVo nothing happens. On one rare occassion I have had them transfer. I know they are downloaded in iTunes because they show in the correct folder when I view the folder in Windows Explorer. I also get none of the video downloads to happen when I select them as a session pass or even as a single download. When I select a video as a one time download off of the TiVo box, I always get the message that the TiVo has not connected to the TiVo server in the last 24 hours and nothing downloads. I am getting my CNET download for which I also have a season pass. I have tried restarting the TiVo and the PC with no success.
How can I tell TiVo Desktop to connect to the server or find out if it is indeed connecting????? I have assocated the PC with TiVo already putting in my e-mail address and password.

Its not the Tivo Desktop that needs to connect to the tivo server, but your tivo itself that needs to connect to the server. Try manually connecting to the server (Messages & settings/ settings/ phone & network/ Connect to the tivo service now).

If that don't resolve the problem, restart the tivo.

I had this problem when I first started using 2.6.1 and it cleared on its own after a few days to a week. I think it was a server issue at TiVo that they cleared on their end.

Try calling support.

I thought that the desktop had to convert the file into a format the TiVo could read before it gets sent to the TiVo especially for iTunes podcasts. I have tried restarting the TiVo several times with no luck. Will something in the Desktop logs tell me if the desktop is at leaset getting the video from the TiVo?
