I have a simple home network:one pc,one router, one tivo series 2. I installed Tivo Desktop 2.5.1 and had great success in transferring my tivo files to my pc. Then, in order to watch those same files on the TV, I purchased the Desktop Plus and installed 2.6.1.
Instead of any success or satisfaction I now have no Tivo Server. Although the services continue to run on my computer, taking up valuable resources, I cannot get the server or desktop to start.
I have uninstalled in several different configurations. I have cleaned the registry and everything else I can think of. I have employed Tivo's own un-install 'cleaner' program.
I have rolled back to 2.51. I have re-installed this program at least six or more times.
I have wasted many hours of my valuable time attempting to resolve this by taking the actions outlined above. I have combed the forums, blogs the whole web for some solution, some registry edit, some key that will get this to work.
All of this I have done without any success.
And I have called Tivo Support: she disconnected me.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
Tivo: When are you going to get some accountability and get some techs on this? On second thought, don't bother - I'll switch to Comcast -
