Missing network icons

I have a DirecTivo that was reset a couple of months ago, but I still have yet to see a single network icon. What causes this, and how can I get them back?

It is caused by a clear and delete everything. They will be restored with the next DTV update provided you have the phone line attached and the update enabled.:)

Ah! I understand. Is there any way to push the icons onto the unit ahead of time? Or is there no choice but to wait for the next update? (With DTV's record, it's not likely to happen for another two years. :) )

No, there's no easy way to do this. Just wait for the next software updates to roll out. We should see some new features coming later this Spring.

And let this be a warning for others contemplating a Clear & Delete Everything. :) Unless you want to lose the icons. :D
