Sorting recordings - is there an easier way?

Hello all. I've started recording a particular programme for my son and my TiVo is now full up with them all over the place (in date order) over six pages. I could output them to DVD or my PC but I'd prefer to keep them on TiVo. So my questions are, I know in TiVoWeb I can sort recordings into folders, but can I do the same on TiVo? Or alternatively is there any way to "push" the recordings towards the bottom, perhaps by tricking TiVo as to the recording date? Even alphabetical would be good start.

Have a search in this forum for sortnp and newfolders - both of these do similar.

Many thanks Colin. I did quite a few searches yesterday but it was the key word 'sortnp' you provided that did the trick. Excellent.

Just one question, there seems to be a "bug" (maybe), which I can't quite get my head around. I followed the simple installation process in this link > www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=367247&highlight=sortnp - however when I use folders, they don't appear as in the screen shots provided by the author of the software. The .png file isn't appearing within my Now Playing screen. Is this usual?

Did you reboot after installing the script? The 'icons' against channels (which is what a folder is - a pretend channel) only get cached by TiVo at bootup, so you won't see them until a reboot.
