Intermittent problem - some programmes not being recorded

My Tivo has recently developed an odd fault. It's been happening more frequently over the past week which seems to indicate a worsening problem.

Details: sometimes there is nothing recorded, even though the programme shows up in the 'now playing' list with all the correct details. On selecting play all I have is an empty timeline and no content whatsoever.

Does this indicate a hard drive about to give up by any chance? The drive is about five years old and is a Samsung Spinpoint (I replaced the original drive with it myself).

Any info gratefully received.

If you are using it with a Set Top Box e.g. Sky, it may be worth giving it a restart.

Tivo may think no signal is being received on those occasions.

Thanks for the tip, I do use it with a Sky box so I'll reboot the box now and see if that helps.
