Hi I am a Tivo newbie and still finding my way around so would appreciates some guidance.
I have a UK Thomson Tivo box and want to connect to a Sony Wega CRT tv which has 4 Scart AV inputs.

The current setup is a Sky+ box connected to AV1, a Sony DVD Home Cinema DVD Recorder connected to AV2 and a Sony VHS VCR connected to AV3 leaving the front AV connections for Camcorders and Playstations etc.

I currently have the VCR output from the SKY+ box into the DVD Recorder so that I can copy content off the sky box to DVD. However I want to copy content and record new programs on the Tivo.
I have followed the Tivo suggested connections setup from the manual for a Sky box plus a VCR (substituting the DVD Recorder for the VCR) but that means signals pass through the Tivo being the only connection to the TV. I would prefer the output from each AV component to be connected individually to the TV via the separate AV inputs listed above but still want to record from the Sky+ to the Tivo.
Can I just connect the VCR output from the SKY+ into the AUX input of the Tivo and still record programs using the IR control cable to change the Sky+ channel, or am I missing something fundamental?
I am currently feeding signals from the SKY+ box around the house via an uplink aerial connection to a distribution amplifier and dont really want to change this setup.

If i understand correctly Yes you can just place the Tivo in between the Sky+ and the TV, however someone else will be able to confirm that output Sky+ gives from its scarts , it may be that RGB is only on one and not the dedicated VCR output.

Very helpfull community here you will get more replies.

Typically [Sky+] TV OUT -> AUX - [TiVo] - TV -> In - [DVD Recorder] - Out -> AV1 [TV]

Thanks for the posts RWilts and Automan.

Unfortunately I have not made myself clear. As Automan says the "Normal" is to take TV Out from the Sky+ to the Aux In of the Tivo, then TV Out of the Tivo to the TV.
The problem with this setup is that when the SKY+ box hibernates then you dont get a signal on the Tivo. Similarly the Tivo needs to be on to watch Sky+ as the signal is routed via the Tivo box.
I think the normal hookup is for TV's with only one or two scart inputs.

What I was asking was --Can I take the output from the SKY+ VCR scart to the Tivo Aux input and take the TV Out from both the Sky+ and Tivo to the seperate AV inputs on the TV.

My concern was still being able to record onto Tivo from Sky+ and whether the Tivo needed any signals from the Sky+ box via the "Normal" connection hookup from the Sky+ TV Out scart.
I have attached a diagram (modified from the Tivo manual) to clarify

The problem with this setup is that when the SKY+ box hibernates then you dont get a signal on the Tivo.Go into the Sky+ menus and switch off the hibernation feature. I can't remember how to do it but I know it's possible.

Similarly the Tivo needs to be on to watch Sky+ as the signal is routed via the Tivo box.The TiVo is always on anyway, even in 'standby' as it needs to be so that it can make recordings and make the daily call. Don't bother switching the TiVo to standby as this does nothing except turn off the SCART output to the TV ;)

Automan's suggestion is the best option as you preserve a full RGB signal at all times. When your DVDR is switched to standby it should pass thourgh your TiVo's output to the TV; when it's switched on you don't need to see the TiVo anyway as you are watching a DVD.
