I just noticed a new thing the updated Tivo software is doing (or not doing).

It appears that even though there are a list of season passes shown, they aren't used. I stopped getting the Lehrer Newshour even though there was a season pass shown. When I checked the list of future shows, none were marked to be recorded. Then I checked all the other season passes with the same result, the passes were there, but nothing was set up to be recorded. I tried resetting the box, but nothing changed.

This apparently started a couple of days ago, I got recordings on Friday.

I then cancelled the season pass and re-set it. After the normal 3 to 5 minutes to do the cancel, and a similar wait to set the new one, it now shows that it will do some recordings.

It's kind of a problem to redo all the season passes since it takes over 5 minutes to do each one between cancelling and resetting.

Agreed! I started seeing the same problems about a week ago, is the only suggestion to deleted and re-add all the season passes?!

Well, at least I'm not the only one (not that it makes me feel any better). I thought the point of having a DVR was so that one could set it to record shows and then be able to watch them whenever they wanted without worrying about it. That apparently is not the case. This thing is essentially useless. And you're right, NCARalph. It is a giant hassle to have to set season passes numerous times since it takes so freakin' long to set them. With the way things are going, I think we'd probably be better off just watching shows when they're on. I spend more time messing around with it than I do watching TV.

Well, Comcast couldn't fix it remotely so a tech is coming out Monday. My DCT is still not automatically recording season pass episodes. When I delete a season pass, then remake it, it will schedule a couple of recordings, then never schedule any more in the future.

This appears to have fixed itself in the last couple of days. Initially the new box the tech left here had the same problem, but after a few days of having to manually reset recordings, it now seems to be automatically rescheduling them.

Maybe there's hope for these things after all.
