Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. If she ends up being the mom, I'll be interested to see how they explain the fact that they've never mentioned the kids' older half sister.

I kind of feel the same. I'm wondering if we might be seeing the same thing we saw with Robin where there was so much chemistry that they had to work a relationship into the plot, even if the character doesn't wind up being the mother.

I can't imagine her being back until next season since Scrubs is currently filming 16 episodes for season 8.

She already knows the story of HHMHM

I can't remember what year that it is when Bob Saget is talking to the kids on the couch, but isn't there a distinct possibility that the half-sister is grown and maybe has her own family by that point? If people think that the half-sister should be a tip off to the kids, wouldn't it be a tip off as soon as he mentioned someone who is in the same line of work as their mom?

I don't see any basis for thinking she's the mother. Nothing in the article even suggests it; it's just a joking comment by the author, who has no inside knowledge. The actress is being signed for a longer-term role... that's all. Ted has already had two serious relationships on the show.
I'll be surprised, and disappointed, if the mother is introduced before the final episode.

I said in the last new episode thread that I thought Stella was the mom. The line she said about being at a St. Patrick's day party, but leaving early was what made me think so. Course I could be wrong which wouldn't be the first time. They seemed to make a point of showing Ted brushing by the future Ms. Ted at the party and she was blond if I remember correctly. Seems like they sorta quit mentioning the mom plot early in the season, but have pushed it since the strike.

I don't expect that the alleged sister would be sitting there on the couch with the other two kids, but all of the significant characters have been talked about during the voiceover narration, and I'd think that if there were another kid/sibling, s/he would have been mentioned at some point.

Sarah Chalke has signed on for at least one more episode, and is due on set this week.

Was that the episode where Ted made all the right moves by making all the wrong decisions, like dropping the girls they were with to get into the bar that had hotter girls inside, ordering champagne on someone elses tab and meeting a married woman? I don't know who Stella is, but if I remember correctly he brushed up against a brunette and they even made eye contact for a second so I said it to my gf, she is the one and I bet if we go back to other shows you would see her around or they will do close meetings in future shows.
