Hi
My recently purchased tivo (with cachecard) has been working fine until now, updating over the net, but just connected a freeview box to it and it won't connect (in the guided setup) during the set-up call.
TivoWeb is working fine and I've checked the netowrk settings using nic_config_tivo and everything seems fine but I swapped the update method to dialup and back to network to be sure.
The only odd thing I can see is that it doesn't seem to have picked up the Daylight Savings' time change and is an hour behind on the clock (when checking the logs to see why I get no connection).
I can post logs if that would be helpful but am not sure of the best ones to post.
From what I've read on the forum and in the logs, it would appear that tivo is trying to use the modem to connect or else tivo servers' are down or don't like that I'm not sync'ed timewise .. I guess.
Needless to say I'm pushing the limits of my knowledge regarding tivo's, linux and everything in-between although I wouldn't have gotten this far without this forum  .
So if anyone can suggest what I might try next I would be very grateful
**** NOW FIXED **** The solution was adding "/dev/null 2>&1 &" to my startup author file. Answer in this post for anyone else scratching their heads -
