Hi all,

My Tivo has been sat in a cupboard for a year or so. I let my monthly subs lapse (acutally my credit card expired and I never really thought about it!)

I am guessing my box will now be in "Bad Standing" as my subs went unpaid.

How will this affect me selling the box? Will the new user be able to re-sub the box? Do I have to inform Tivo that I have sold it or can the new user just restart a sub in their name?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You definitely need to call TiVo CS to tell them you have sold the box otherwise the new owner won't be able to set up an account!

Once you've done that all should be peachy :)

Thanks for that blindlemon, what info will I have to give them and will they want to charge me anything for not officially cancelling my subs with them, just letting my credit card expire. Oh, and do you know what the phone number is?

The phone number is 08702 418486. They will need your address and accoiunt number and/or the TiVo Service number.

I have no idea if they will charge you anything, but I don't see why they should.

The phone number is 08702 418486

Or use 01506 421710 if you are on a plan that gives free calls to UK geographical numbers

As indicated letting the sub lapse doesn't cause any problems but an unmodified Tivo with no Lifetime Sub is scarcely worth anything (£25 perhaps)so its scarcely worth selling other than to think that at least it will remain in use with someone else.

Obviously if you have a Cachecard or larger hard drive then it will be worth rather more.
