I was one of the people hit with the 8888 issue and decided to keep the iGuide software until the Tivo issues are worked out. Funny thing is, Comcast updated the iGuide software last week with some pretty nice new features.
e.g The search interface is a lot like tivo now. No more 'arcade style' enter your search criteria, now you get a full a-Z keyboard to type into
There are a few small other changes I noticed too and am still finding new ones, still no Folders, but I found it interesting they would push an update like this out while trying to push their Tivo upgrade onto people.
Once the Comcast Tivo gets at least as fast as my old HDVR2 I'll give it another shot, for now iGuide for me.

The Search is still nothing like the TiVo search.

I am located in New Hampshire, and not only did my motorola DVR get updated, my non-dvr software that runs the iGuide has the new search as well. I will take a picture of it and post it in a few minutes.

As promised, here are some pictures. The third one is just a message about a new feature coming soon.
The new search interface is really nice and you can see the 'tivo inspired' portions of it :)

Thank you for the pics, sberube. I'm in Fall River, MA. Definitely did not get that update yet.

I remember now one of the other great features that came w/ the new iGuide update.
This resolves an issue where you could miss a show if a previous recording at the hour earlier extended over the 60 minute block.
e.g.
8pm
Show 1 - 61 minutes - Channel 100
Show 2 - 61 minutes - Channel 101
9pm
Show 3 - 60 minutes - Channel 102
Show 4 - 60 minutes - Channel 103
Now, previously the iGuide and Tivo(Maybe this is already fixed, please let me know) would not record show 3 and 4 since the other two starting at 8pm would end at 9:01pm.
w/ the new iGuide update, there is a setting to handle that so you will get 59 minutes of the 9pm shows intead of not recording them at all.

Per your photos... What happens if you Search for "Evidence"? Will "Lost Evidence" be a choice?

if it works the same as the cox software which TVGuide bought that would be a keyword search. Our boxes has had the keyword option for awhile.

that's fine I was just saying that the keyword search would give every mention of what you are looking for, but searching just 1 word would only bring up searches for only that word.

Don't take it wrong. I just want the answer from him since he has the new i-Giude.
I don't know what guide you have. Do you have exactly the same i-Guide as he does?

no I don't have the iguide, but the functionality should be close since they are made by the same company

So the functionality of a Honda Fit is the same as an Acura NSX? Or DOS 6.22 and Windows Vista?
I'm just giving you a hard time, but there are significant differences between iGuides across the US.

Ok, the search is not a keyword search, it is a title search (similar to how it used to work) the only reason The Lost appeared is like before, 'The' is not considered in the search when looking for the word 'Lost' hence the entries for 'The Lost' when searching for 'Lost'
Bottom line, works like before but easier to enter searches now.
There are other search types available now other than Title search however (still no on-demand search) I'll play more to see what I find.
