View Full Version : Season Pass restoration?

I know that when you upgrade a drive, if you've opted in to certain things (like KidZone) your season passes and wishlists will be automagically restored on a connection to the mothership.

I was recently gifted an "official" MyDVR Expander 500GB for my S3. For a variety of reasons, I'm looking to pull the 500GB drive inside my S3 out, replace it with the original, unmolested 250GB drive, and use the expander to boost my storage back up (I have another use for the 500 gigger, otherwise I'd just marry the new external manually.)

The only question I have is whether or not this will still do the "restore the season passes" thing. I'm guessing that it won't, since the original drive still has all the SPs, WLs, and programs that it had when I did my upgrade way back when. Anyone have any ideas?

Well since you're pulling the drive out anyway, you could always just hook them all up to your computer and MFSCopy from the internal 500 to the original + My DVR Expander and save everything.

I'll have to check -- I think my SATA controller is only 2 port, which makes it tough to have all 3 drives connected at once (unless the toolset is now relatively stable on Intel Mac OS X these or I can convince the Mac to boot from one of the Linux boot images -- haven't checked in a while.)
