View Full Version : Replacing two drives with one drive

Hope it's okay to start a new thread instead of continue with the one I started an hour ago, but it is now completely clear to me that the problem with my Series II is most definitely a bad drive and so now the topic shifts...

I have two 80G drives in my unit (that was a lot back then) and I intend to replace them with a single 200G unit. While half of me wants to tackle this by myself, that upgrade kit at Hinsdale is very tempting.

I recall from years ago that two drives had to be married in some way -- part of the old "blessing" procedure. Will there be any implication of going back to one drive?

And should I want to back up any of the programming, how would this best be done on a drive that would arrive from Hinsdale with the TiVo OS already on it?

Thanks...

You need to check out www.mfslive.com. WinMFS is so much easier nowadays.
