How to lock Seagate DB35.3 to the system

Hi,
Sorry for irrelevent post but i couldnt think of a better place to get my question answered.
Can some one tell me how to lock a DB35.3 HDD to a DVR.
I heard a system must be able to provide a key to the HDD for the HDD to function.
How can i achieve it. The DVR we are building is Linux based.
