My daughter has a TiVo-HD connected to a LG HDTV via the HDMI cable and when skipping past parts of a recorded program then letting the TiVo play the sound goes off. (sometimes this happens on TiVo live TV when changing channels). If she tunes off the TV than back on the sound comes back.
For three months after she got the LG HDTV (and TiVo-HD with CC) she did not have this problem.
I tried the following:
Changed HDMI cable, did not fix the problem
Changed the HDMI TV input to HDMI 2, did not fix the problem
Added a component cable set, fix the problem when using the component input on the TV, if we went back to the HDMI input we still had the sound go off. With the sound off on the HDMI input (and the TiVo playing) I switch the TV to component input and the sound came back on.
I think its the TV and HDMI interface in the TV that has a problem as I do not see how it could be the HD-TiVo..opinions
