for season passes and even for TIVO suggestions, recording is starting about a minute too early. So for shows that go right to the next hour, I am missing the last minute. It almost seems as if the TIVO clock is off by 1 minute. I have TIVO HD. Is there any way to reset the clock?

I think it might be my cable service though (Time Warner). Have found no way around it except to pad season passes.

Your Tivo's clock is accurate. The network's clocks are wrong. It's the same results though.

I've contacted my local provider in the past and politely chastised them for starting shows too early. They denied it, but within a week or two, shows were suddenly starting on time.

Some networks have been known to shift their programming by 1-5 minutes to "lock" people into their content. "Oh, crap. That other show's already been on for 3 minutes. I can't change now." They'll also do a show that's 1 hour and 2 minutes to achieve the same effect. There used to be a lot of grumbling about that back in the single-tuner days because it locked people out of watching a lot of prime-time content unless they set up manual recordings to either clip the first show or start the second one late. Now we have two tuners and auto-clipping which does a decent job of eliminating the problem as long as the networks provide the proper run time for their shows.
