I got a pleasant surprise today on my TiVo... a message saying these channels were added:

198 Sportschannel New York HD
211 A&E TV HD
213 HGTV HD
216 FOOD HD
217 History Channel HD
222 USA HD
224 Discovery Channel HD
226 SciFi HD
230 Animal Planet HD

And, even better, goodbye to:

218 NFL HD


That's in addition to the HD channels we've had for awhile:

201 HD Special Events
202 ESPN HD
203 ESPN2 HD
204 TNT HD
205 HD Theater
206 MOJO HD
207 Golf Channel/Versus HD
208 Universal HD

Wow. Either you've got 3 HD Channels/QAM up the wazoo, or I'm ready to buy a TiVo HD for my Dad.

STILL waiting for those channels in Atlantic County. How long will it take??? These channels have been existed for quite some time. My theory was that they were withholding them until the next time they wanted to increase our bill.

I'm really tired of getting letters saying "Hey you get 5 new channels for the $20 per month we are raising your bill. You get the rodeo channel, the paint drying channel, the DMV waiting room channel, the nothing but bass fishing channel and ESPN 6 which plays nothing but baseball games from the 40's."

But they all appear to be showing SD content. I assume that some year they will actually show HD content, but not at this time. :mad::mad::mad:

No new HD content in northern NJ. The last time new HD channels were added was Oct. 2007!

Even better, Cablevision (for me) was nice enough to take away 15 channels, religating Voom to SDV.... but thats just me complaining.

I'm sure they plan on adding some (USA/SciFi anyone) soon..... maybe... eventually....

Food Network HD is on almost 24/7 at my house. That channel usually has the best picture quality out there for some reason?

I love how channels like TBS HD waste HD bandwidth with their stretched SD content. What a waste.

Those channel numbers are the same as the Comcast channels in Branford, CT. But we did not get the additional HD channels yet!!!

The news about "NOT SDV" is great for Tivo owners. At least until the dongle Tuning Adapter ships. Or should I say S4 with tru2way?
