I just got a Harmony One and have created a Watch TiVo activity. However, right now when I click that activity, it takes about 2 minutes to go through all the commands.
It's trying to turn on the TiVo and change to Tuner.
My activity is doing this;
AV Receiver is On
TV is On
Tivo is On
All other devices are off
After this...
Tivo is set to "Tuner"
TV is set to "DVI"
AV Receiver is set to "DSS"
How do I remove the TiVo commands? I want it always on and what is this Tuner setting it's trying to do?
My Home Theater Master remote does this "activity" in less than half the time the Harmony does.
Thanks,
stevel

Two minutes? Really?
In the Harmony control panel, click the Devices tab. For your TiVo, click Settings. For Device Options, select "Adjust Power Settings" and click Next. Select "There are no power buttons on my current remote", and click Next until you are Done. You could also select "I want to leave this device on all the time" but then it will ask you about which button is used to turn it on and off.
You can also adjust delays between commands this way.

I did that and when I create an activity to watch TiVo. It still adds these two commands.
Tivo is ON
Tivo is set to "tuner"
Two minutes, maybe it's closer to one minute, but it feels like it takes forever.

If you are using a Harmony remote with a TiVo, be sure to set the adjust the repeats and delay to make the remote more responsive.
To do that in the Harmony software, go to Devices -> TiVo -> Settings -> Adjust the delays. Set the power-on and interkey delay to 0.
Next, go to Devices -> Tivo -> Troubleshoot -> Show me more problems -> PVR doesn't receive every command correctly -> The device responds too much to some commands. Set the repeat to 1 (0 works for some too).
You'll probably also want to reduce the power-on delays for your other equipment. Your current power-on delays are responsible for the wait on your Watch TiVo activity.

Shorten the delays... I think they default to 1000ms... set them to like 50 or 100.

It's highly doubtful the Tivo has anything to do with it as there are no commands to turn it on or change input. More likely you have to go into the delay settings for your TV and/or receiver and adjust the delay settings downward, particularly the power on delay which is sometimes very high.

I reduced the power delays. My Samsung TV was set to 25000 for the power delay.
I changed it to 15000 and I'll see how that works.

That's 15 seconds! I am sure that the TV responds to commands sooner than that. Try 2000.

If he has a DLP set or other rear projection then 15 seconds is a good time. It takes that long for the TV to power up and start receiving input. My panasonic's sweet spot is 14 seconds.

Other than this issue, how are you all liking the Harmony One?

I have an RPTV and sure, 15 seconds before I start seeing anything is normal, but for the remote all it should care about is how long it takes after power on before it can start processing more remote commands. That's what the power-on delay is supposed to be.
FWIW, I have the Harmony 880 but the operation is pretty much the same.

Yeah.. I'm just saying from experience with my 880, 14 seconds is a good time period as its between losing inputs and actually seeing anything. The TV doesn't seem to accept input while 'booting up' as it will (indicated by a flashing green light on my tv). That process generally takes ~10 seconds, I give it a few seconds buffer since I don't see anything anyways to be sure I don't miss anything. After the ~10 seconds I get a solid light and another 5 seconds until I see anything at all. Even after that I don't get a clear picture for another couple seconds. By that time I'm already on the correct input and all is well.
But that's just my TV, I have no doubt in my mind others respond quicker or slower.

Tell the remote that your TiVo doesn't have any power buttons or is always on.
As for the TV, test the power on delay with the regular remote - turn it on and then mess around with it until you can tell that the remote is working (like play with the volume or the channels). Multiply that by 1000 and put that for your power on delay.
