I just purchased a DirecTivo HR 20-100 from E-Bay Express. I called DirecTV to set up an appointment for the install of another HR 2x receiver as well as the 5 LNB Dish. A couple of questions please:

Can I call to activate the new HR 20 receiver now prior to getting the new dish and have it replace the oldest unit I have which is the DSR 6000?

I currently have a total of 3 DirecTivos on my account and that is going to stay the same. Will they need to replace my multiswitch, a switch that was installed by DTV about 2 years ago when I first got my HR 10-250?

Anything else I should know before they come out for the install? I want to make sure that I get everything that I'm supposed to get during this install. Thanks in advance for your help on this topic.

Yes, you can activate the HR20 without the new dish and if you want to start using it right away, that's fine. You'll just have to redo the satellite setup when the new dish is installed.

Yes, they will need to replace your multiswitch with a WB68 - make sure that is on your work order. The old multiswitch will not work properly with the new dish.
