Went to bed last night with black screen on both systems (one DCT and one DCH). Could it be they were updating the software?!?!? Wishful thinking. Woke up this morning with the same black screen.
Restarted both boxes and both are stuck at the same point: Welcome; Starting Up..... Have restarted a few times; same thing.
The LCD say the same thing; looks like n .01 (can't tell what it is supposed to read).
Been on hold for Comcast for an hour now. Is anyone else seeing simliar problems this morning?

I had a black screen for a little bit, and then it started back up.

Got them both back up and running no thanks to Comast. Spent 2 hours on hold; yes 2 hours. We called from a cell phone and spoke with general customer support who knew nothing about Comcast TiVo; but dialing the TiVo choice put us back in the queue.
Finally got through. They could do nothing. They could not communicate with either box and according to the rep I spoke with the code indicated the box was "gone" and scheduled a visit for tomorrow. It was unacceptable that I would lose all my recordings for no good reason.
I started playing with the boxes; booting them up on other cable outlets. Finally got one working; then the other. Finally got them both back up in their orginal location.
When I looked the diagnostic screen it had shown no IP address assigned to the box; which I suspect was the problem...but Comcast had no idea why this would be. Both now have IP addresses and are back up and working.

Great support from the boys in blue, eh? The funniest thing is watching the techs call support and each and every single time having to go to ATS to get anywhere. I've become an expert at this point.
March 22 and still waiting.

I am using the Motorola DCH3416
I myself was on hold for a half hour... disconnected!
Called back on my cell and was on hold for 2 1/2 hours.... hung up to eat (I had driven from North Shore of MA to Central CT)
Called again and was on hold for a half hour.....hung up.
Called a last time (irate) and chose "On Demand" problems instead of TiVo and got through in 30 seconds!
My saga started Friday night (3/21) with extended wait times while setting recordings... by 8pm we lost the box....the display alternated between a flashing cursor and 88:88. Customer service suggested a service call for Tuesday. Not acceptable, so they suggested swapping my box. I rushed down to the local Comcast service center and swapped my box, got home and plugged it in....... After total of 4 1/2 hours on hold I found out that they neglected to tell me that I would lose TiVo until a service tech could come out and reload it.
I returned home on Sunday to find out that the guide was no longer working on the box. I powered down and have been unable to power the box back up. Display is showing on "standby" and I can't use the service at all!
I have tried searching this model DVR and have found nothing that will help in my situation (tried a soft and hard reboot to force software download and it didn't work). They tell me now that the first time they can get someone out to help me will be on Friday.
So here I am, down since Friday night, with no hope of seeing my TiVo or On Demand back until this Friday....
Am I a little disgruntled?
You can't even to begin to imagine.
