1. Can I plug tivo into one tv, and watch the recorded programs from another.

2. Can I turn off tivo and record a show or movie onto vcr, if yes, can I watch it from a vcr when tivo is connected?

Thank you for your patience

Carl

1. sort of... you have to somehow connect the Tivo to this other TV though. You can split the cable out from the Tivo and connect it to the second TV. The Tivo isn't a magic box though, just as you record one show on your VCR you can't view it on another TV not connected to that VCR.
If you had two Tivos you could record stuff on one and transfer it to the other Tivo.

2. whats a VCR? Kidding, you can put the Tivo on standby. There are a bunch of connection options, but the jist is yes you can do this.

I don't exactly understand #1. If you have TWO Tivos, you can transfer shows between the Tivos (with exceptions). You could also route the video from one Tivo to another TV via 'wireless video' transferrers, which some say aren't very reliable (get interference easily).

#2 -- While recording, the Tivo is obviously still on. Recording onto a VCR (or DVD recorder, which is more convenient nowadays, especially if you use a hard drive/DVD recorder, and can edit the recording before burning to DVD) is essentially the same as just recording what you are watching live. (The only difference is that if you use "save to vcr", it puts a little info screen at the beginning and ignores some remote button presses to not wreck the recording.)
