Can't seem to CHMOD

Haven't added or changed any mods on the TiVo for ages, but decided today to have a play and see what else I could add.

Am trying to add Autospace.

I've FTPed in and copied the files, but cannot CHMOD them. Just keep getting an error "500 Syntax error, command unrecognized" when I try.

I'm stumped. Any ideas?

You don't want to FTP in, you want to telnet into your TiVo.

FTP transfers files, you use telnet to open a shell prompt to run other commands.
