View Full Version : Survivor Season Pass: Disappearing Act!

Since my HR10 didn't record Survivor last week, I decided to add a second season pass using the New York CBS station (channel 80). Last night, when I checked my "To Do List" I saw that the season pass for my local affiliate was not listed. When I checked the upcoming episodes, it showed that it was scheduled to record. Strange?
This morning, I checked my To Do List and saw that both Survivors (channels 4-1 and 80) were scheduled to record this Wednesday.....but then KAZAAM! I literally watched the To Do List change before my eyes and delete both Survivors!
What the heck?
Later in the day, the To Do List seemed to remain "steady" and both Survivors continued to be listed.
I've read here that others have had similar problems with Survivor recordings. My machine is unhacked and running the latest updates.
Any ideas?

The season's pass for Survivor has failed to record on our HR10-250 for several weeks running. My wife has resorted to setting up each episode to record individually.

Perhaps not, but my family is downstairs watching the latest episode from cbs.com with the laptop hooked up to the TV because our TiVo once again failed to record it.
I don't know when the episode aired, I just know that the TiVo didn't record it.

Must have been the episode from two weeks ago. I haven't had any problems recording Survivor on either my HR10-250 or my HR20 HD DVR.
What does your Tivo say under its "Recording History" for that Survivor episode?

Survivor not recording? Maybe that is a good thing :) The box is trying to tell you something.

This is the second season that my HR10 had inexplicably failed to record Survivor -- even if the show was listed in the To Do list 30 minutes before the show aired. It finally pushed me over the edge to the HR20.
For the record, I think it is absolutely incumbent upon DirecTV to FIX whatever bug causes the HR10 to do this. It NEVER did this when it was running 3.1.5, so it is not as if the problem is intractable.
But I finally just came to peace with the notion that DirecTV is actively trying to drive people off of the HR10 platform, so they're just not going to fix any problems it might experience, as long as those problems cause subs to call DirecTV, to be told -- hey, time to upgrade to the HR2x. So I finally gave in. Truth be told, the HR20 is quite a nice box.

I set 2 Season Passes on 2 channels, my local OTA CBS station and Channel 80 (CBS NY network).
Sure enough, my To Do List showed that both shows were going to record...right up until my last check about an hour before Survivor started. The Channel 80 Season Pass mysteriously disappeared! Luckily, the local OTA channel recorded.
No one seems to be able to answer in a definitive way why this phenomenon is occurring.
