Dish Network is asking a federal appeals court to rehear an earlier ruling that it had violated TiVo's DVR patent.

I wonder if they're just trying to delay the decision so that they can try to fix or replace all the DVRs out there that violate the patent. It's probably worth it to have to pay the additional interest rather then shutting down 4 million customers' DVRs.

they claim to already have the fix in place to make the DVRs nonm-infringing - that is being discussed in the Echostar thread that has reached 1,000 posts already - maybe thi can become the next thread for echostar trial
