For those Mac/Apple TV users amongst you...

I have been wishing we might see a new bit of TiVo hardware but I'm sure that not going to be the case now in the UK, even more so after the announcement of TiVo software bundled with Nero, this is great news and will extend the reach of TiVo to a lot of people, especially with PC's. :D
Unfortunately for my house full of Mac's running EyeTv, my home server on a Mini along with Apple TV and iPod touch its not going to fit in. :(

However, today on Macrumors I saw this...

I'm still amazed there was no tuner in appleTV from the start...
though it might have been a cynical move to avoid cutting into iTunes video sales...

My guess as to why there's no Apple PVR is that they are finding it really hard to come up with something which works with sufficient "Appleness" - computer based PVRs are seldom elegant, and even TiVo had too many glitches for Jobs' liking, I suspect..

It took the brute force of Microsoft to come close.... If anyone could, Apple could though. Tivo is as 'apple like' a product can be, except being god damn ugly.
