Tivo + HD + Direct TV

I am trying to find a company that sells a box that has

Tivo (real Tivo)

support for the 'new' DirecTV HD channels




The user interface supplied with the Direct DVR's is not my favorite.



Where can I learn more about my options?

there is only one Tivo with HD capabilities that works with Direct, the HR10-250. This model is old and not available from Direct anymore. It only works with the old satellites that are mpeg2. All the new HD channels from Direct are on new satellites that are mpeg4. This means you can't get them on the 250.

Yep, like rocko said, TiVo+HD+DirecTV=ZERO

If you want the new HD from DirecTV, you have to get one of their boxes.
There is no TiVo option.
