I saw this in the Series 3 forum, but am putting it in this one because mine is a 10-250. I have a Survivor season pass for first run and repeats, number one on the season pass list, yet it does not record and says someone modified the recording, which of course was never done. I am not seeing this happening on any of my other boxes. Is this a 10-250 problem? And is there a fix. I have already deleted and restarted the season pass and it is still happening.

Try changing SP Show Type: All (with duplicates). If still having the problem, do a Restart/Clear program information & To Do List.

I'm having the same problem with the same show. My wife thinks I did it because none of my shows have this problem. I'll follow Hiker's tip and see what happens.

I'm having the same problem with the same show. My wife thinks I did it because...
...Because wives always think it's our fault? :)

If it's the same show, someone involved with Tribune may have changed the metadata for the show. Or even the actual name; "Survivor: Bumfuk, Egypt" is considered by Tivo to be a different show than "Survivor: Shoeleather, Iowa", so this happens a lot when they change the names of things ("Enterprise" changed to "Star Trek: Enterprise" back in the day and caught a lot of us off guard).

But even though the name, etc. appears to be the same as before, enough may have changed for Tivo to not recognize the eps and match them up with the (old) SP. Usually clearing the SP and re-entering it from scratch solves the problem.

This happens on occasion, and often when seasons change, so it is a good idea to delete old SPs after the season ends (or a long hiatus) and re-enter them when the new season starts back up. That is, unless you're OK missing an ep or two.

I have had the same problem with Survivor in the last two weeks. I checked my " To Do" list just before we went out for dinner. I was on the list to be recorded. It was scheduled to begin recording within the next 15 minutes. When we came home from dinner, we sat down to watch the show...guess what?? No Survivor! In the history it says "Someone in your household modified the Season Pass"
I did try restarting the unit and I changed the options to record duplicates...anymore suggestions?

I've always wanted to be a professional procrastinator, but just never seemed to get around to it...
Just wait... your chance will go. :p

I've had the same problems too, but with other programs. I then did all w duplicates for the affected shows and it took care of the problem.

Never had these issues w 6.2 nor 6.2a. With conversion to 6.3e now f is where my problems started.

Let me see if I really understand this.

6.3e began to yield problems? And now "f" is f***ed as well? I unplugged all 3 Tivos over 500 days ago when 6.3a proved to be about as reliable as hammered dog-$#!+ (two still on 3.1.5f), and have been considering finally plugging back in to stop the spontaneous reboots (funny, I never yet saw one of those OR an 8-second audio dropout on my HR20). If you are saying there are problems with "f", this is the first I've heard of it, so I am really curious to hear what you know.

To be specific, my SP recording problems were occuring on my SD units, not my HD units, and even more specific, wiggles and clifford (I have offspring). Kept on getting the 28 day problem nag, with 'e', even though the program titles were different.

I have not gone back to repeats or first run since I got F'd on every unit. As I posted on another thread, I've had 1 reboot out of 7 units in three weeks after getting F'd. Significantly improved.

I've had the same problem ("someone in your family modified") for several weeks with Survivor. But only on one of my units. On another unit it records fine. Both are 6.3f.

I have 2 DirecTv HD TiVos and both failed to record Survivor on the 6th. In both cases they state "Someone in your household modified..." and no one did.

The Survivor SP is the top one on the list and this is dual tunners as well.

I checked the SP for the remaining shows and this weeks (13th) showed like it would record, but not the 20th! I manually told it to "record this episode also" and then it said the 13th would not record! I manually set it with the "record this episode also" and now both show they will record.

What gives????

I don't watch nor record Survivor, but these reported symptoms sound similar to past issues caused by guide data content problems.

My Survivor pass is also not working. It is my #1 pass also. It was fine up until this week and next week's episodes. I manually added them, but now I'm worried about other passes.

Try changing the priority of the show so that the unit will recompute the recording dependencies.

A reboot wouldn't hurt either.

Although not a fix, you could setup a repeating manual recording for that channel and time.

Well, last week on my HR10-250 I set Survivor season pass to the #1 position and changed the settings to record "all with duplicates". Monday, 3/10, I checked the season pass and Survivor was set to record on 3/13 and 3/16 (why Thursday one week and Wednesday next week I'll never know). I checked the season pass again on 3/11 and it was no longer going to record those two shows on 3/13 and 3/16. Nothing is in the recording history (future?) to explain why these two episodes won't record. I had to manually set the two episodes to record. My DVR-40 is just fine.
The cool thing is that my wife witnessed me check it both times and I had no chance to change it in between. She finally believes it's not me, so I've got that going for me... Which is nice...

That's what the To Do List is for, to verify what will and won't record. EX-pect what you IN-spect. My Dexter SP went south, but I still never missed a recording.

Speaking of "Dexter", that one really DOES have a problem. When I search eps on my HR10 that is at 3.1, it just goes directly back to the NP list. When I search for it on my HR10 at 6.3b, it reports "internal error". Luckilly, it reports just fine on my HR20.

I almost didn't get Lost recorded last night. I've been having problems lately with the thing missing recordings (or only partially recording certain programs) so I checked the To Do list about an hour before Lost was to come on. It was not scheduled, despite the Season Pass. I went to the recording history too look up the reason, and it said something about the program no longer being in the guide. So I went to the guide, and of course Lost was still there. So I just set it to record manually. WTF?
