View Full Version : Program remote to operate 2 units?

I now have my RS-TX20 and my HD setting next to each other, how do I configure the remote to operate each independently? Ideally I would like to have the TX20 off or maybe in standBy mode or something, I hate always unplugging and plugging in units for fear of HDD damage not to mention having to wait thru the boot/welcome screen!

Should I just leave the "inactive" Tivo in StandBy mode? Is that how ya do it?

No, the TiVos which are set to different 1-9 codes, will not know you are using the other TiVos. Be careful about the system-info screen, if you leave a TiVo on that screen and change the remote code, both TiVo will be on the same 1-9 code.
