PBS-HD in LA?

Does anyone know when LA will be getting PBS in HD? Since I had to disconnect my OTA, i really miss PBS-HD.

There was a press-announcement a month or so go..

that DirecTV and PBS are working on an arrangement...
But there has been no update to the progress on that.

All that is known, is that it will be part of teh HD-LiL and you will have to have an MPEG-4 compatible unit to receive it.

About a month ago DirecTV and PBS said they were working on a deal. When/if they do start broadcasting PBS in LA it will be mpeg-4 and will not work on an HR10-250. Why did you have to disconnect your OTA?

i have a HR-20-700, and the OTA combined signals created a problem.

i have a HR-20-700, and the OTA combined signals created a problem.See if you can get a single wire multiswitch (SWM). You should be able to add the OTA signal to the line. I have not used a SWM so maybe someone else can comment a bit more on it.

good idea. but i wish DTV & PBS would get a deal done.

I have an SWM but my OTA feed bypasses it as it is an amplified antenna and I can't get the power through the SWM. I am not sure how the OTA input on the SWM is to be used, given that the frequencies it uses are shared with OTA.
