No thread for this....did anybody watch it? I watched it last night and was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely a screwball comedy, but there were several lines in it that I thought were very clever and had me laughing out loud.

Overall though, not sure if this one is going to last very long...at all.

Interesting guest star -- considering the people that made it, not really a surprise (although it did surprise me).

Rashida Jones reminds me of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Shaun Majumder reminds me of an "Indian" version of Jonny Lee Miller. :)

I watched the first 2 minutes. It started 28 minutes late due to NASCAR. Seemed promising, though the commercials make it look pretty terrible.

Saw it. Liked it. And was surprised there was no thread here.

I've come to accept that I have zero luck picking whether a show will last. If I love it, it probably won't. If I think it's the dumbest thing I've ever seen, it'll get 7 seasons and a lifetime of syndication.

I wonder if it's sponsored by Google Earth? :)

I thought it was pretty funny, enjoyed it, but you can tell it won't last more than 1 season, TWO if they are lucky

For years the PTC was too busy condemning Cold Case to notice something like this.

Any guesses as to how long this will take ? If it's business as usual, it'll be about two years from now !

* Myself, I liked the show but hope it improves from this first episode.

I downloaded it from Unbox. It was free. I thought it was pretty funny.

The wife recorded it, but we got Family Guy instead. Can't say I'm complaining. :) Recorded Family Guy and got King of the Hill too.

It was okay. They better not replace American Dad with this, though.

It was okay. They better not replace American Dad with this, though.Because of the race and the schedule being almost a half hour late, the Fox station in Miami went straight to news and didn't air it.

Odd. My guess is they were not supposed to do that as I am sure FOX would want the new pilot to be seen. When I worked at CBS anytime we were delayed we would show all of primetime and then join in progress on something else. Primetime is the big bucks even if shifted.

I would guess that in a market like Florida, where there are lots of older people, the FOX affiliate hangs its hat on the earlier news slot and they weren't about to delay that and piss off their core audience just because of a new sitcom that's unlikely to last.

Well I was in a FL market, granted not So Flo but still FL market. Heck CBS is the "old person station" (not anymore, but you know). My guess is the affiliate probably messed up and/or made a decision which was probably against FOX Corporate (Phox works for CBS, do we have a FOX affiliate worker here?). If affiliates could choose to preempt primetime then national would have a hard time selling national spots I would think. Well for this show we get this many viewers, but in these markets with these people they can preempt primetime so we could be down to this many viewers.

I didn't think it was great. I'll still give it a few more tries (if it lasts that long).
i.e. it wasn't BAD, it just wasn't great.

It seemed fairly raunchy.. which is fine, when it's funny (e.g. Coupling). It just seemed raunchy in this one.

(paraphrased from memory)

"...Bi-curious George."
"Do NOT pull that finger."
"I always enjoy a stiff ****...tail now and then"

Loved those lines!

(apparently this site is censoring one of the comments!)

Just remembered the dude doing the Heimlich when the closeup hinted he was doing something else. I laughed. My wife nearly wretched at the faces he was making.

Having just watched the pilot again (b/c the wife wanted to see it), I have to say I'm amazed I kept watching after the opening scene. Over the top silly almost never works for me. I'm glad I stuck with it.

"I always enjoy a stiff ****...tail now and then"

Yeah, that was the kind of 'raunch' I noticed... which I also noticed because something else I Watched recently (I think it was an episode of "New Adventures of Old Christine" from a few weeks ago that I just watched a few days ago) used almost the same kinds of jokes... but they were FUNNY there.

(Though it seems like we've now gone past another barrier in language on TV.. The Daily Show, while on basic cable, uses the 'd' word a lot nowadays.. Now network prime time shows are coming close to using another slang term for that body part.)

I tried to watch it, but caught Family Guy instead. I guess I won't bother to watch it if Fox can't program the show so that the pilot episode starts on time.

Nascar ruined the whole night. Thankfully I was at a friend's house that night and they tape the 2 hour block (why they tape King of the Hill is beyond me, but at least that meant we had Simpsons) so when we started watching Simpsons around 9:30, we went and padded to get Family Guy and just ended up watching this show after we watched Family Guy.

Kinda funny, but as mattack said, it was raunchy without being funny raunchy. I might watch it again.

I almost turned it off because of him.

It's ok but after I finished the episode, my first thought was "Rashida, you left the Office for this?"

I'm one of those who got caught unaware by NASCAR...

did he do it with the hot girl who liked gorilla-love?

it seemed very promising but I feel weird paying iTunes money to watch a pilot...FOX isn't replaying it as far as I can tell
