Because of conflicts with other stuff I didn't get into this show until last summer when they had re-runs and now with the writer's strike. I love the CSI types shows, but with the different flavors I think they've done all the themes. Criminal Minds, on the other hand, I think is a very well written show. So far I have not been disappointed. Some of the story lines I never see coming or I'm amazed how well they're done. Some are even shocking.

What do you think about this show?

We've been watching from the beginning and it's one of my (and my family's) favorites. I've always thought it stood out from all of the other CSI type shows. It has great characters and they seem to develop all of them pretty well. They've all had episodes where the crime affected them in some particular way.

Have you been watching episodes with or without Mandy Patinkin? I miss him, but his replacement is good and I think it might be an improvement not to have a single central character.

I also like this show for same reasons you do and started watching it around the same time you did.
Its too bad the networks don't repeat some of their better shows during 'off primetime' hours.
Writers strike period should have been used to run marathons of bread and butter shows to pull new viewers.

We watched from the beginning but just got tired of it so we quit watching after last season.

Actually a shame, because I like Joe Montagne a lot more than Mandy Patinkin as an actor.

how old are your kids? The 11 yr old I nanny for loves this show, but I told him he had to give it up. He is kinda of bitter with me. He also loves all the CSi's too.

I've enjoyed the show from the beginning. Mandy is famous for pulling his kind of stuff. He did it to Chicago Hope, Dead Like Me and now this one. This one seems to be doing pretty well without him. I am glad.

I'm with you craftassistant. My kids are 10 & 12 and I would never dream of letting them watch this show, or any CSI for that matter. Heck, they don't watch anything on prime time at all, come to think of it. However, everyone's kids are different I know. I do like this show a lot, although it was better in the first few seasons. The episode where the team are interviewing a killer and his wife both about to be executed was absolutely jaw-dropping.

I really like this show. Instead of just being wonder heroes, the writers show them being human. Their jobs affect them, and they aren't automatons.

Well said! The characters really make the show, and the writers make sure that there's much more to each of them than just what they do. That's what I enjoy most about the show.

Plus - YUMMMM!!

My kid is 15 and he's never liked any shows like this or CSI, anything scary, or bloody. I guess I'm lucky. I did get him hooked on House and Bones though.
