I've found that if I leave the TivoHD on pause for a long time, it consistently crashes and reboots.

I do have an external eSata drive and wonder if that could be the cause.

Anyone else here notice crashing after leaving it on pause for 10+ minutes?

Since no one replied - I've left my THD paused for longer than 10 minutes without a crash.

What type of external drive are you using?

Also, have you carefully checked/secured the eSata cable and connection?

Yes, cable is secure.

It's a Maxtor SATA 320GB disk in an I-Rocks eSata case.

I would try removing the external disk, but I'm not sure what will happen to the shows it contains or whether I will be able to re-attach it.
