Need a little help with this one...I have a HDTivo and a Series 2. Both are wirless and have been powercycled. Both can access the network and update the data. But neither shows the other in the now playing list...
I logged on to my account on Tivo.com and both are set for transfers...what gives?

I am not at the Tivo's to confirm. But the S2 has been running for 4 years and the HDTivo has been running for 4 months now. I should also informed you that I have been able to transfer between the 2 before.

Have you tried power cycling your modem/router as well as both Tivos. This has worked for me in the past.

I had this happen and it was because one Tivo had updated software and the other had not. You can keep conecting the one that needs updating to the service and it may update.

Ok, so I power cycled everything and it worked for a little bit...I checked later in the eveing and the Tivos were no longer networked....I forgot to check the software versions, but I am sure they are running the most recent ones...

It may be that there is interference on your network. Try changing channels on your router to a less "crowded" one. Most people in my neighborhood are on channel 6 or 11 which must be a default setting. So try to avoid those two.

I have found that if you have semi good signal strength then you have Tivo Wireless reconnecting and getting a new IP which it can steal from another device. I had to put my wired devices on a static IPs that were below the DHCP distribution of my router.

Basically i told my router only to issue DHCP from 192.168.1.11 -192.168.1.50, I then put all my other devices under that range.

What brands/model #s of adapters are you using?

Thanks for the sugestion...Everything had been working fine when I was using WPA2 encryption...I had to step down to WPA so my Wii could access the network, my current router is on the special list that does not support WPA2 for Wii. I will try playing with the IP addresses and will get back to you....

oh, and I use only the Tivo wireless adapters
