Nope.
Where'd you think you'd heard that?
The only real problem is that Rosenbaum has said he isn't coming back for an 8th year.
And Lex just went and killed Julian's clone, too.
Such a shame.
I figured they'd have used him to be the evil Luthor presence for the 8th season, doing all of Lex's dirty work while we only see distance shots of a bald guy, or scenes of an egghead sitting at Lex's desk, but we only see from behind.
Oh well, I suppose Rosenbaum could still do guest shots.

Have you tried anything on the CW? Reaper? Aliens in America? Everybody Hates Chris?
They have some really good shows but if you are just going to have an attitude that people should not watch the CW because it is the CW than perhaps you should stay out of threads labeled about it.

I tried the Reaper, but it didn't do it for me. Supernatural is good though, but I don't watch it. There's just a lot of better shows on.

Michael Rosenbaum: Yeah, we’re finishing up our sixth year and next year is the last year.

According to Michael Rosenbaum, who plays the role of Lex Luthor in the CW's Smallville, his character will finally become the villain he was destined to be in the 7th and final season of the series.

It looks like this final season is going to be much more "superhero-y" than previous seasons, what with Bizarro, Supergirl, Lex's super-army and no doubt more Justice League appearances.

I was certain that despite the cries of fans for another season that the producers of Smallville had settled on season 7 as the final one for the series.
Obviously these aren't definitive, but it shows that others were also thinking the same thing and that it wasn't unreasonable to think Season 7 was the end.

I was hoping to see "Reaper" in that list also. :( But happy that Supernatural and Gossip Girl are there.

I didn't like Reaper. I tried it and wanted to like it but just couldn't
Aliens in America is quite funny. I love Amy Pietz.

Yay, more GG goodness!
What, they're not doing a Gilmore Girls reunion movie? :(
Well, Gossip Girl is good, too. And who knew that Blake Lively was the fourth girl in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? Four young actresses, all major TV veterans -- Blake, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn.

It probably would have been the last. If it weren't for the strike. So, this season really doesn't count. Kind of like 6.5? Or 7.5...

Yay for Supernatural. Boo for Smallville (I can't stop myself from watching even though I rarely enjoy it anymore. Someone help me)! Pretty please for Reaper!

Well I've also read that this was supposed to be the final season for ER, but because of the writers strike they weren't able to make enough episodes to wrap up the story the way they wanted to. Perhaps that is also the case with Smallville?

While it's not unreasonable - let's face it, the show (and actors) are getting a little long in the tooth - the cat was out of the bag (sometime in the fall) when it was discovered that the girl who plays Kara was signed to a two-year deal (season 7 and 8).
Not too long after, folks learned that the last time Tom Welling re-upped (before season 5?), he was signed on for (up to a) season 8.
Of course, all of this could have been moot had the CW decided to end the series, but the fact that there will be a Season 8 isn't so much of a surprise, to be totally honest. Those websites should have their geek passes revoked! ;)
Personally, though I enjoyed season 6, and most of this season, they should have cancelled it after season 4. But since I'm locked-in, and my DTiVo hasn't crapped out yet, I'll keep watching...
Edit: And yeah, though Michael Rosenbaum is on record as saying he isn't/won't be under contract, the expectation (hope?) is that he'll guest star a la John Glover in season 1.

Well, in their defense, all of those references I posted were from before the fall and they've likely updated their reports since then. In fact, the last link is a story specifically talking about how the writer had previously written that S7 would be the last but that now is S8. I'm sure it's been common knowledge since then, but I don't keep up with that stuff, so I was simply going on the last information I had heard, which apparently was last summer. And I was pointing out that, based on that information, it wasn't unreasonable to have assumed that this was the last season.

If you are okay with being rude and obnoxious for no apparent reason, then by all means continue to do so. It just rubs those of us who try to be respectful to others the wrong way. But by all means, don't let the constraints of civilized behavior stop you from keeping it real though. We can't have that.
