Wow. Walt is a total badass.
Best show on TV.

I guess this explains the "humanization" of Jesse last week; we needed to make sure we feel bad about the state he's in this week.
What was Walt going to do if the big bad guy inhaled a piece of the mercury, or even worse, made HIM inhale a piece like he did to Jesse?
Can't believe it's the "season finale" already next week. :(

Great episode. Good to see them add a little more action this week.

And then he'd have been dead and what would Walt do then?
Although, if the explosion was big enough to blow out all those windows and do the damage it did, Walt should have been dead too.

And the shock should have set off the rest of the bag of stuff. There was definitely a little creative leeway taken there.

I think he said it was Mercury fulminate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_fulminate)
I think it contains about 7% mercury.
Wikipedia wasn't that helpful in explaining the side effects specificly of Mercury fulminate.

Wow!, show has hit its stride! Everyone needs to watch this show, I need a season two!
Also, I watched the beginning a second time, brilliant start or end how ever you look at it.
I now understand Jesse was beat up, he was selling dope on the street, not the deal gone bad as it first looked to me (demanding cash up front).

That was great! Sure, not very realistic, but that's OK with me. Still a lot of fun to watch.

Great episode. Great show.
Mercury fulminate... somebody contact Mythbusters to see if that amount would blow up a wall!

Tico (if that's his real name <grin>) has an army of goons on the street protecting him and when there is an explosion upstairs, they let a guy with a bag of cash walk out the door?
Not Prison-Break-preposterous, but it is testing my limits.
Still, the shine is still on this show for me and I really look forward to it.
I think about the economics of creating a show for such a small audience and I am surprised shows on this network can survive.

Walt did have a whole bag of his mercury fulminate explosives to use against Tico's henchmen in needed.

I think the biggest stretch on this show is him having to pay cash for his treatment. Don't school teachers have really good insurance? They're government workers, after all. Is there something unique about this chemo?
I love the show. I hope someday his brother-in-law gets to see commando Walt! He's so patronizing.

The problem is that the doctor Walt's seeing now isn't on his insurance plan. The doctor that was on the plan was the one that told him it was untreatable.

Given all Tico's security, I would think, if someone is walking out of Tico's office with a bag of cash either Tico gave it to guy or the guy just took out Tico, all his higher level security, and is "calmly" walking out of the place. Would you want to mess with him? :D

I agree, but I'm okay with that. I wish more shows took creative leeway with the same finesse as Breaking Bad.

You know, when they did the flash-forward with Badass Walt, I thought "Wow, that's gonna be cool. But surely they can't get from here to there in this episode."
But they did!

Yup - just like the pilot episode.
When seeing the initial flash forward, I misinterpreted it and for some reason thought that the bag he was carrying had a head in it.

When seeing the initial flash forward, I misinterpreted it and for some reason thought that the bag he was carrying had a head in it.
I also thought that, because it looked like it had blood on it, and the way everyone was backing away from him I was sure it was a head.
