So I'm setting up my new (original) S3 HD Tivo, and it refuses to connect to my network - though it finds it just fine. I then read online that Tivo won't enable or operate on WPA security protocol on an Apple Airport wireless router!!!! WHY!!!??!
Tivo SUCKS for not enabling WPA for Apple routers! I have my whole network set up using WPA for my laptop, iMac and PS3, and for some reason, Tivo requires WEP using Apple routers!
Is there a workaround for this before I have to reconfigure every wireless device in my house!!! As I recall, my PS3 won't recognize WEP!!!

As the link says, be sure you are using the TiVo adapter.
I'm using an Apple Airport Express in an "access point" configuration. My TiVo HD works quite well with it using WPA.
My only complaint is the extortionate pricing for the TiVo adapter. My local Best Buy usually sells them for $65 and occasionally discounts them to $60. (Yes I know I can buy cheaper online).
To steal a line from the movie Used Cars: What the hell is this? Is this a TiVo Wireless G adapter for sixty five dollars? That's too f***ing high! (BOOM!)

Thanks guys. I do have the Tivo Wireless G adapter, but I had to turn security off for the initial setup.
The software says that I'm a 8.01xxx (something). How do I force a software update on the Tivo S3 box? I've been looking for it in the forums, but couldn't find a definitive answer. Thanks!

Laugh...
Anyways, TiVo should detect the upgrade next time it connects to the service. Is this a brand new TiVo? If so, it may have downloaded it already and is just waiting to reboot.
