When D* gave me 2 new HR21's last month my wife copied all are old Season Passes to the new DVR's. We get the LA feeds on the 80 channels and now have to change the Series Links to the 300 channels. With TiVo you could just edit the Season Pass to the new channel. Does anyone know an easy way to change the Series Links to the new channels on the HR21's?

Oh, really? No tivo I ever had did that. If TIVO changed the channel data, yes, but not if you did it.
And, no, there is no way.

I've never seen how one could "edit" a TiVo SP to change the channel. I always had to delete the old SP and create a new one. Same on the DirecTV boxes.

If you go into the Season Pass Manager and select the show, it would allow you to see upcoming episodes on all channels that carry the show. This will allow you to select the new channel and request the season pass. Then delete the old one.
You may be able to do something similar with the Series Links on the HR2x boxes.

Hmmm, never knew you could do that! I've always just deleted the Season Pass and re-created it. I'm pretty sure this trick won't work on the HR20/HR21 DVRs, but will have to give it a try.

That's the way I've done it.

That is the same as deleting and recreating - just the reverse order.

Nope, because when you go into the to do list or the prioritizer, the Episodes button only finds episodes that match the season list, not all episodes on all channels like the Tivo (BTW, that feature of the Tivo always drove me nuts).
Also, if you have no episodes to be recorded, the Prioritizer only gives you the option to change the settings, not to view upcoming episodes.

And, to add to the list of very, very minor annoyances, the HR2* Series Link does not report which channel the SL is tied to. So, if there are no upcoming episodes, one cannot tell if the SL is tied to the old 8* channels or the new 39* channels.

Actually this is one of my favorite/most frequently used features, both for season passes and just to check which episodes are coming up to schedule a recording. To each their own.

That is the same as deleting and recreating - just the reverse order.Except you don't have to go through the exercise of entering the name of the show again.

Until recently, you got NOTHING if there were on episodes upcoming in the prioritizer. At dbstalk, we lobbied to get it so you could do something besides delete a season list that has on episodes recording.
I think it is not complete as there is not search for episodes (it is not like the items that do have episodes coming up) but it is an improvement.
(BTW, complaints here won't do much....dbstalk has the ear of DirecTV.)
