Well,
Sure enough. I decided to take the plunge again and try 6.3f after my disasterous trials with 6.3a and 6.3b . No one can be this incompetent right? Boy was i wrong. Although the hr10 doesn't reboot now, once a day it comes up with activate your DVR service / insert valid access card and stops recording until the unit is rebooted or the acces card is pulled and reinserted.

This same thing happened with 6.3a/b until i decided to go back to the trusty 3.1.5f. Looks like I'll be pulling my drive and downgrading...err..make that upgrading to 3.1.5f again.

what a pain.

Generally speaking, that's an indication of a bad power supply. Try running the internal drive(s) off an external power supply (and old PC PS will do.) I bet your issues go away.

I've read that quite a few times, but how do you explain the problem just plain goes away with 3.1.5f?

Divine intervention?
