how good is videoredo tv suite? How does the video look? I thinking of upgrading
to it for 30.00.

You must already have VRD+ so you know the features there.
TV Suite has all those features plus DVD authoring.
The only complaint I have with it is the lack of sophisticated DVD menu creation.

Other than that, it is the BEST (and easiest) mpeg editor/DVD authoring program I have ever used.
IMO, it does a great job with the video.
I take Hi-Def recordings from the TivoHD and make standard-def DVDs and the video looks as good as the original.

You can also get more info here (http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/index.php).

I tried it out today. It works good so far. Sometimes when i use nero or ulead the video would not look right. it says i can make a 16x9 from a letter box 4x3
video. how does that work?

I don't know, never tried that.
I'm sure it recodes the video somehow.
You might try asking at the VideoReDo Forum (http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/index.php), or PM Dan203 (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/member.php?u=695). He might know.

I believe it just pads the left/right sides of the video with pillarboxes. If you go under "Change Output Options" you can see the Video Cropping and Sizing tab which will show you the result (you can also change the color).

I just looked at this and video cropping shows a stretched picture.

The menu options are a little lacking. But since they included a Tivo themed menu when burning a DVD it's all good!

Is that included now? I had grabbed it separately from one of Dan203's posts here.

I tried that out today. It looks good. but you have to up the resolution to 720 x480 to get a good picture.
