Transfers taking 12 to 20 hours

When I first hooked up the tivo to my wireless network a tivotogo transfer took about 40 minutes for a 30 minute program recorded at the best quality. For the last several months I have not been able to transfer programs. The transfer never finishes and the estimated time is around 12 hours.

The wireless signal to my tivo is 97% and the signal to my laptop is excellent. I have tried rebooting the tivo, computer and the network with no improvement.
I have cordless phones that I thought might be the problem but even after I removed the batteries it didn’t make a difference.

I downloaded tivo desktop 2.5.1 yesterday but that made no improvement.

Hardwiring the laptop to the network didn’t make a difference.

This might be your culprit, 802.11b is only 11 mbit/s, while 802.11g is 54 mbit/s.

Sounds like it may be a security issue with the pc. Try turning off firewalls, antispy apps to see if it helps.

Did you change any hardware or settings since the first transfer. Did you maybe set the router to use "G" mode only, when maybe it needs to use mixed mode(b & g) if you are using b & g devices?
