My TivoHD has the wireless G adapter. My Tivo S2 has an approved Wireless B adapter. I see them both in each others play lists. My problem is that my TivoHD doesn't transfer the files from the S2. It shows the transfer is happening, but it never gets enough data to play even one second.
Additional Info:
Both can connect to my PC. Both can play MP3's and Photos from my server. So, this means the network connection seems to be fine for each individually. I haven't tried to move a file from the TivoHD to the S2 yet. I have the latest version of Tivo Desktop running, and no software firewall installed.
Please help!
PS - both have the latest systems running - 9.1 or 9.2 not sure but the TivoHD just upgraded and the S2 has been running the latest system.

In the Recording History (under the To Do List), is there any reason listed for the failed transfer? They're usually pretty generic, but it's worth checking ...

This is the error:
This program was not transferred onto this DVR because the file was larger then expected or because the file was corrupted.
I just transferred a show from the TivoHD to the Series 2 Tivo with no problem. So, it works in the one direction, TivoHD->S2.
From S2->TivoHD no luck.
UhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhGGGG!

Quick update - I am trying to move shows from the S2 to my PC, and they seem to be moving at a snails pace as well. I tried to move a 1/2 hour show over last night - 8 hours later and so far 5% is complete. So something is definitely up with the connection on the S2 Tivo.
I restarted that Tivo last night before I attempted this transfer.
Update 2 - now Tivo desktop gives me an error when trying to connect to my S2 DVR:
There was an error while attempting to retrieve data from the selected DVR.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because the connect host failed to respond.
The now playing list started to show up but it stopped after about it getting halfway done.

Well, the B adapter on the S2 could be your bottleneck.
Are you able to connect to the S2 via your browser? Point your browser to https://{your TiVo IP} and login with username 'tivo' and your MAK (media access key) as the password. If you can't connect to that, TiVo Desktop won't be able to either.
As for the "file larger than expected" message ... do you have a lot of "keep until I delete" recordings on the THD? That can sometimes cause problems with space estimates.

I'll do all that to see what's up. My latest tests involved playing MP3's and Photos on the S2. Like usual it connected to my PC with no problem, and the music and photos all played fine. So the S2 can connect to my PC. Something is keeping it from transferring programs though.
The only thing I've changed recently is that I added Kidzone functionality to the S2.
I know the wireless B is a bottleneck, but it never failed so much before and transfers to the PC (and my other Tivo) are no longer happening. The fact that Tivo desktop is getting errors displaying the playlist seems to be the biggest clue.
I'll try the IP thing shortly - I'll be back!
Also, there is a new error on Tivo Desktop -
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

The IP worked on my broswer. I think the issue is solved...
I moved the Tivo into the other room, and it seems that my signal strength goes from 30% to 60% - I noticed that when I went to check the IP. I need a cord to make the wireless adapter more exposed as I think it being hidden inside the cabinet is making it very weak. I can watch the transfer numbers since I am using Firefox, and the show is transferring but the speed goes from 0k to 7k.
The connection must be too weak, which is odd because like I said I can play music and look at photos.

Well I just connected the Wireless-G Tivo Adapter to the S2. The signal strength is over 75%. I am still having problems with Tivo Desktop connecting to it. UG!!!!
